מודל לחיקוי

מודל לחיקוי הוא אדם שבהתנהגותו או בהצלחתו גורם לאחרים - בעיקר לצעירים[1] - לחקות אותו, או לנסות ללכת בדרכיו. מסיבה זו מוטלת אחריות על ההורים, המורים והמנהיגים של החברה לייצג בהתנהגותם דוגמה ומופת לאחרים.[2]

את המונח טבע הסוציולוג היהודי-אמריקאי רוברט קינג מרטון.[3][4]

מורים כמודל לחיקוי

לדברי ריטה פירסון, למורים, בשל הזמן הרב שיש להם עם הילדים, יש השפעה כה עצומה על הילדים, עד שממליצים להם להיות חביבים על מנת לבנות מערכות יחסים רגשיות חזקות איתם.[5]

מפורסמים כמודל לחיקוי

החשיפה המתמדת של צעירים ברשתות החברתיות לחייהם של סלבריטאים בשל טרנדים בתרבות הפופולרית, גרמה לסלבריטאים, כוכבי פופ, דוגמניות וספורטאים להפוך למודלים מרכזיים לחיקוי בקרב הנוער. סקר שנערך בבריטניה ב-2008 גילה כי רבים מהצעירים עוקבים אחרי אלו האחרונים כמודלים לחיקוי לא בשל כשרונותיהם, אלא בשל העובדה שהם מפורסמים, והתקווה להצליח כמותם דרך השתתפות בתוכניות ריאליטי ודומיהן.[6]

ספורטאים כמודל לחיקוי

ישנו דיון מהותי האם ניתן להכליל ספורטאים כמודל לחיקוי,[7] משום שמחד - חלקם מנסים להתנהג ככאלו, אך מאידך - הפיכתם למודל לחיקוי נובעת מיכולתם כספורטאים בלבד, ולא כתוצאה מעמדותיהם המוסריות.[8][9]

צ'ארלס בארקלי, לדוגמה, הצהיר כי ספורטאים אינם אמורים לשמש כמודל לחיקוי, וההורים צריכים לקחת תפקיד זה על עצמם.[10]
