יחסי מרוקו–סוריה הם היחסים הבילטרליים שבין ממלכת מרוקו לבין הרפובליקה הערבית הסורית.

היסטוריה

שתי המדינות חולקות היסטוריה משותפת. שתיהן היו בעבר חלק מהאימפריה הרומית, ומאוחר יותר האימפריה המוסלמית שהביאה עמה לשתי המדינות את האסלאם. עם זאת, מרוקו הפכה לאחר מכן לממלכה עצמאית, ואילו סוריה הפכה לחלק מהאימפריה העות'מאנית. בהמשך מרוקו נשלטה על ידי צרפת, ולאחר מלחמת העולם הראשונה גם סוריה נכבשה על ידה.

מאז מלחמת העולם השנייה

מרוקו וסוריה כוננו יחסים דיפלומטיים אחרי נסיגת צרפת ממרוקו ב-1956. זמן לא רב לאחר מכן נשטפו שתי המדינות בגל הפאן-ערביות, אולם בזמן שסוריה נקלעה למערבולת פנימית, מרוקו הצליחה לשמור על יציבות. הדבר הזה הוביל בהמשך למתיחות בין המדינות[1].

היחסים בין המדינות הפכו למתוחים במהירות, כשמרוקו צידדה במערב ואילו סוריה חברה לברית המועצות. בנוסף, סוריה בהיותה חלק מהרפובליקה הערבית המאוחדת תמכה באלג'יריה במלחמת החול נגד מרוקו. נטען כי בשנת 1965 הזמין מלך מרוקו, חסן השני, סוכנים מהמוסד והשב"כ כדי שיאזינו לוועידת הליגה הערבית בקזבלנקה, מה שסייע לישראל לנצח במלחמת ששת הימים[2]. היחסים בין המדינות השתפרו כשב-1973 שלחה מרוקו חיילים כדי לסייע לסוריה ולמצרים במלחמת יום הכיפורים[3].

השיפור ביחסים לא נמשך זמן רב, וסוריה תמכה בחזית הפוליסריו שנלחמת נגד מרוקו על עצמאות סהרה המערבית מאז 1975. בשנת 2013 הודה נשיא סוריה, בשאר אל-אסד כי סוריה סייעה לחמושים שנלחמים בכוחות המרוקאיים[4].

בשנת 1986 סוריה בהנהגת חאפז אל-אסד ניתקה את היחסים עם מרוקו אחרי שהמלך חסן השני ערך פגישה חשאית עם ראש ממשלת ישראל דאז, שמעון פרס. המתיחות ביחסים נותרה עד אחרי מותם של המלך חסן השני וחאפז אל-אסד[5].

מלחמת האזרחים בסוריה

מרוקו תומכת בכוחות האופוזיציה הסוריים נגד משטר אסד, ואירחה את מפגש הקואליציה נגד אסד בשנת 2012 ו-2013. למרות שמרוקו השתדלה להתרחק מהסכסוך ותמכה בפתרון דיפלומטי, היא הואשמה על ידי סוריה בסיוע ובתמיכה בצבא סוריה החופשי.

בשנת 2019, עם השיפור במצבו של המשטר הסורי, בחרה מרוקו לתמוך בהחזרת סוריה לליגה הערבית[6].
