חוף באנזארה (באנגלית: Banzare Coast) הוא אזור בארץ וילקס שבאנטארקטיקה[1][2].

חוף באנזארה מוגדר כאזור החוף של אנטארקטיקה, הממוקם בין כף סאות'רד לבין כף מורס[1][2].

היסטוריה

גילוי החוף

אזור החוף התגלה מהאוויר ב-15 בינואר וב-16 בינואר 1931[2] על ידי משלחת החקר הבריטית, אוסטרלית וניו זילנדית לאנטארקטיקה[1][2] (באנגלית: British Australian (and) New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition ; בראשי תיבות: BANZARE) אשר חקרה את האזור בפיקודו של דאגלס מוסון[1][2].

מקור השם

שמו של האזור ניתן לו על ידי דאגלאס מוסון[1][2].

מוסון קרא לחוף על שם המשלחת עליה פיקד[1][2] - החוף נקרא על שם ראשי התיבות של שם המשלחת: BANZARE - נהגה "באנזארה"[1][2].
