אפקט החשיפה הבלעדי

אפקט החשיפה הבלעדי (Mere-exposure effect) הוא תופעה פסיכולוגית שבה אנשים נוטים לפתח חיבה או דחייה כלפי אובייקטים או אנשים רק משום שהם נחשפו אליהם באופן חוזר. בפסיכולוגיה חברתית, תופעה זו נקראת לעיתים גם "עקרון ההיכרות". האפקט הוכח במגוון תחומים, כולל מילים, סמלים סיניים, ציורים, תמונות של פרצופים, צורות גאומטריות וצלילים. מחקרים על משיכה בין-אישית מראים שככל שאדם נחשף לאדם אחר בתדירות גבוהה יותר, כך גדלים סיכוייו למצוא חן בעיניו.[1]

האפקט נמצא בשימוש בתחומים רבים, כמו פרסום, כלכלה והתנהגות צרכנית. המחקר מצביע על כך שהאפקט יכול לעורר חיבה גם ללא הכרה מודעת, ושהשפעתו ניכרת יותר כאשר מדובר בגירויים חדשים ולא מוכרים.[2]

מחקר

החוקר הידוע ביותר שעסק באפקט החשיפה הבלעדי הוא רוברט זַ'יונְץ (Zajonc) שהבחין שהחשיפה הראשונית לגירוי חדש מעוררת תגובת פחד או הימנעות, אך עם החשיפות הבאות תגובת הפחד מתמעטת והעניין בגירוי גובר, עד שהאורגניזם מתחיל לפתח חיבה כלפי אותו גירוי.[3]

ניסויים בשנות ה-60 עד ה-90

במהלך שנות ה-60, זַ'יונְץ ערך סדרת ניסויים במעבדה שהראו שחשיפה לגירוי מוכר גרמה למשתתפים לדרג אותו כחיובי יותר לעומת גירויים דומים שהם לא נחשפו אליהם קודם. הוא מצא תוצאות דומות גם לגבי חיבה ונעימות כלפי צורות גאומטריות, תמונות של הבעות פנים, מילים חסרות משמעות ודמויות סימבוליות.[3]

בשנת 1980, זַ'יונְץ הציע את השערת הקדימות הרגשית (Affective Primacy Hypothesis), שלפיה תגובות רגשיות, כמו חיבה, נוצרות עם מינימום קלט חושי, וללא תהליכים קוגניטיביים מקדימים. בניסוייו, הוא הציג למשתתפים גירויים חוזרים בפרקי זמן קצרים מספיק כך שלא יזהו אותם במודע, אך הם עדיין הראו העדפה כלפיהם.[3]

ניסוי נוסף השתמש בביצי תרנגולות שהושמעו להן צלילים טרם בקיעתן. לאחר הבקיעה, כל קבוצה של אפרוחים העדיפה את הצליל ששמעה לפני כן. ניסוי נוסף חשף משתתפים לדמויות סיניות וביקש מהם לדרג האם הן מייצגות קונוטציות חיוביות או שליליות. המשתתפים דירגו את הדמויות שראו בעבר באופן חיובי יותר. אפקט זה הופק גם כאשר הגירויים נחשפו לתקופות זמן קצרות מאוד שלא ניתן היה לתפוס אותם במודע.[3]
