Michael Atchia masani ne a fannin ilimi kuma Malami ɗan ƙasar Mauritius. Shi ne tsohon shugaba kuma daraktan shirye-shirye a Hukumar Kula da Muhalli ta Majalisar Dinkin Duniya.[1] Ya kasance ƙwararren majagaba a fagen ci gaba mai ɗorewa kuma ya yi aiki a ƙasa da ƙasa a cikin gyare-gyaren ilimi, kula da ayyukan muhalli na ƙasa da ƙasa da na yanki da warware rikice-rikice, ilimin muhalli da haɓaka manhajoji. A matsayinsa na mai ba da shawara na ƙasa da ƙasa ya gudanar da shawarwari da yawa a cikin ƙasashe fiye da 50 kuma ya yi aiki tare da kungiyoyi irin su UNESCO, Hukumar Lafiya ta Duniya, UNDP, ILO, GTZ/DSE na Jamus da British Council.[1]

A cikin shekarar 1990 ya sami lambar yabo ta "Tree of Learning Award" ta IUCN na tsawon shekaru 20 muhimmiyar gudummawa ga ilimin kiyayewa da kuma a cikin shekarar 1996 "Kyautar Shugabancin Muhalli" daga Cibiyar Muhalli ta Gabashin Afirka. A cikin shekarar 2012 ya sami digiri na girmamawa (D.Sc) daga Jami'ar Salford, Salford, UK, don karramawa saboda "fitattun gudunmawar da ya bayar ga kimiyya".[2]
