Sindicación

Na radio e na televisión, a sindicación é a venda de programas e series a múltiples canles para a súa difusión en directo ou gravada, é un sistema común en países onde a televisión está composta por cadeas con canles locais afiliadas, como é o caso dos Estados Unidos. Nos países con cadeas nacionais sen afiliados locais é pouco común.

Clases

Na televisión dos Estados Unidos existen tres clases de programas e series sindicadas:

  • Aquelas que se emiten por primeira vez xa como sindicadas, sen que as emita ningunha grande cadea nacional, tamén se inclúen as estranxeiras que se emiten por vez primeira nun país como sindicadas
  • Aquelas que se emiten como sindicadas despois de emitilas xa unha gran cadea nacional, constitúen tamén unha tipo de repetición
  • Aquelas sindicadas na rede "pública", que constitúen un servizo paralelo da PBS ás canles afiliadas é as canles públicas independentes.

Syndicator

Nos Estados Unidos as produtoras ou distribuidoras que se dedican á venda de programas coñécense como syndicator, na radio as grandes compañías teñen paquetes con gran variedade de formatos[1], aínda que algunhas están especializadas nun ou dous formatos. En televisión o syndicator busca vender en exclusiva os seus programas sindicados a unha canle local de cada área[2]. Aínda que o habitual é que o syndicator venda os dereitos do programa por diñeiro, existe o que se coñece como Barter Syndication[3] que se desenvolveu a partir de comezos da década de 1980, consiste en distribuír programas de balde ou por un prezo reducido ás canles locais que veñen con todos ou varios dos segmentos publicitarios engadidos de orixe. Para o ano 2010 os syndicators nacionais dos Estados Unidos ofrecen ás canles locais 136 programas semanais[4]
