S/2009 S 1

O punto brillante cunha longa sombra no centro da imaxe é S/2009 S1. A división Cassini queda a dereita.

S/2009 S1 é a designación provisional dunha pequena lúa de Saturno descuberta por Carolyn Porco e o Equipo de Imaxes da Cassini o 26 de xullo do 2009. Orbita Saturno a unha distancia aproximada de 117.000 quilómetros, ten un diámetro aproximado duns 300 metros e está situada na parte externa do anel B. A lúa foi avistada cando se cruzaba o plano dos aneis, a lúa proxecta unha alongada sombra sobre os aneis (sombra aproximadamente de 36 km). Sobresae 150 metros aproximadamente sobre o plano que forman os aneis.[1] A imaxe foi tomada a unha distancia de 296.000 km de Saturno.[2]
