Manuel Rodríguez Rodríguez, nado en Viana do Bolo e finado en Santiago de Compostela o 3 de maio de 1908, foi un filólogo e escritor galego.[1]

Traxectoria

Estudou co latinista e lexicógrafo Manuel Jares, cura párroco de Quintela de Hedroso. Pasou ao Seminario de Astorga onde fixo o bacharelato en Filosofía e Teoloxía. Do seminario enviárono a Roma, pero renunciou a carreira sacerdotal e fíxose mestre. Exerceu a ensinanza particular, foi oficial do Goberno Civil de Oviedo e xefe de Facenda de Zaragoza e Lugo. Por amaurose quedou cego.[2] Dedicouse á ensinanza en Santiago de Compostela, onde organizou cátedras de Gramática, Filosofía e de Xordomudos e Cegos, dirixindo o colexio El Amparo. Inventou un aparato para a escritura dos cegos. Colaborou en El Carbayón de Oviedo, El Eco de Orense, La Unión Mercantil de Sevilla, El Regional, Revista Gallega, El Eco de Santiago, Faro de Vigo e Galicia.[3] É autor das narracións en galego Os bizcoitos do crego, publicado en La Voz de Mondoñedo en 1906, e "A boda do grilo" e "O pantasma", que apareceron en El Eco de Galicia en 1907.
