Intensidade (música)

Na música, a intensidade é o parámetro que diferenza un son débil dun son forte. Depende da forza coa que un instrumento musical sexa tocado e tamén da distancia do receptor da fonte sonora.

Acústicamente a intensidade depende da amplitude das vibracións, e particularmente está conectada coa magnitude definida como intensidade acústica, que se mide en W/m², ou máis comunmente en decibelios (dB) cando se mide logaritmicamente (Nivel de Presión Sonora)

A psicoacústica define como sonoridade a diferenza que se percibe da intensidade musical.

Notación

A notación da intensidade realízase mediante signos especiais, denominados signos dinámicos ou indicacións de dinámica.

Para indicar unha intensidade en particular empréganse letras, en cursiva, escritas xeralmente baixo o pentagrama, do seguinte xeito

Pianissimo
Bastante suave.
Piano
Suave.
Mezzopiano
Literalmente, a metade de suave que piano.
Mezzoforte
De maneira similar, é a metade de forte. É máis común o uso de mezzo-piano. Nota: se non aparece ningún indicador de dinámica, mezzo-forte asúmese como a dinámica imperante por defecto
Forte
Forte.
Fortissimo
Bastante forte.
Sforzando
Literalmente "forzando", mostra un cambio abrupto, forte acento a unha nota ou acorde en particular
Crescendo
Incremento gradual da intensidade.
Decrescendo
Tamén Diminuendo
Diminución gradual da intensidade.

Algunhas partituras, particularmente da época contemporánea, chegaron a unha indicación máis extrema, con máis de 3 p ou f.

Para indicar o paso gradual dunha intensidade a outra, hai dúas formas de facelo: a forma escrita, por exemplo crescendo para indicar un aumento de intensidade, ou un símbolo que represente graficamente a mesma indicación, que é o arriba exposto.

Os acentos tamén son parte dos signos dinámicos, indicando que unha nota en particular debe ser executada cunha intensidade superior.
