El empleado y el patrón é un filme uruguaio de 2021 escrito e dirixido por Manolo Nieto.[1] É unha coprodución internacional entre o Uruguai, a Arxentina, o Brasil e Francia. Conta a historia dun home novo a quen o seu pai encomenda a administración das súas terras, polo que ten que contratar novo persoal para facer o traballo do rancho.[2] Está protagonizado por Nahuel Pérez Biscayart, Justina Bustos, Cristian Borges, Fátima Quintanilla e Jean Pierre Noher.[3] Foi escollido como candidato do Uruguai para o Óscar ó mellor filme internacional na 95ª edición dos premios,[4][5] mais finalmente non foi nomeado.

Estreouse no Festival Internacional de Cinema de Cannes o 9 de xullo de 2021,[6] e posteriormente tivo unha estrea limitada nos cinemas da Arxentina o 13 de xaneiro de 2022, baixo o selo Latido Films.[7]
