César Boente Álvarez, nado en Pontevedra a finais do século XIX e finado en Zaragoza o 23 de agosto de 1920[1], foi un enxeñeiro galego.

Traxectoria

Foi fillo de José Santiago Boente Sequeiros e de Carmen Álvarez. De novo practicou vela, e chegou a acompañar ao piano a Manuel Quiroga Losada no Teatro Principal de Pontevedra[2]. Estudou na Escola Superior de Enxeñaría Industrial de Vigo, e en 1908 marchou a Madrid a continuar os seus estudos. Logo de que o seu pai fose destinado a Zaragoza foi vivir alí, e exerceu de director técnico dos servizos municipais.

O 23 de agosto de 1920 foi asasinado mentres reparaba uns cables eléctricos xunto co arquitecto municipal José de Yarza e un axudante (Joaquín Octavio de Toledo), nuns farois da rúa do Coso. A morte foi cometida por Inocencio Domingo de la Fuente. Aínda que se considerou un atentado sindicalista, no marco de varias folgas, o acusado negou coñecer as vítimas. O 30 de agosto dese mesmo ano o concello de Pontevedra acordou darlle o seu nome á rúa Sierra. En Zaragoza tamén hai unha rúa co seu nome, e un monumento en homenaxe aos funcionarios.

Casou con Josefina Camo e tivo tres fillos.
