A Casa A Fundación é unha casa señorial, probablemente do século XVII, situada no lugar da Costa (Mañufe, Gondomar). Actualmente en ruínas, asentábase sobre un pequeno outeiro sobre o río Folón (Río Pequeno na cartografía oficial) nomeado na zona como Río das Bouzas e tamén como Río da Costa. A vivenda principal tiña dúas plantas e dependencias auxiliares típicas dunha casa labrega na súa contorna: curral, corte, bodega, lagar e almacén. Para as labores de explotación contaba con muíño fariñeiro e unha levada de augas para o regadío.[1]

Historia

O titular da casa no século XIX era o presbítero Juan Antonio Fajo Besada, quen fixo testamento incluíndo a propiedade en 1865. Tras a súa morte a casa pasou por herdanza a Matilde Fajo Domínguez. No ano 1937 o ben pasou como herdanza a Francisco Casás Fajo e dende esa data mantense dentro dos seus descendentes e herdeiros durante o século XX.[1]

Na descrición arquitectónica da casa, os irmáns Soliño Troncoso, salientan "a gran calidade dos perpiaños cos que está executada a casa", así como a boa construción dos arcos de descarga sobre linteis e ménsulas interiores.[1]

Toponimia

Durante os traballos de recollida de topónimos na parroquia de Mañufe, o historiador Anxo Rodríguez Lemos, constatou a presenza na memoria da veciñanza dos seguintes microtopónimos con vencello á mesma[2]:
