Capela de San Govan.

A Capela de San Govan é unha capela localizada en St. Govan's Head, Pembrokeshire no suroeste de Gales.

Construída a carón dun cantil de rocha calcaria, o edificio mide 6,1 m × 3,7 m e as paredes foron construídas de pedra calcaria. A capela consta dunha soa cámara.[1] A maior parte da capela foi construída no século XIII, aínda que algunhas partes poden remontarse ata o século VI, cando o monxe San Govan se mudou a unha cova localizada no sitio da capela. Unha lenda suexire que San Govan está enterrado debaixo do altar da capela, situada no extremo leste da construción.[2] A entrada do edificio realízase a través dunha porta no lado norte, os bancos baixos de pedra están construídos aó longo dos muros norte e sur e unha campá en espadana localízase no extremo oeste.[3] Crese que o tellado de lousa é unha adición moderna en comparanza co resto do edificio.[3]

O edificio é accesible dende o cumio do cantil por un conxunto de 52 chanzos,[4] aínda que os puntos de información turística narran que o número de chanzos é diferente cando se baixa que cando se sobe.[5]

O edificio estaba na lista de monumentos clasificados do Reino Unido con Grado I, o 2 de agosto de 1996. Actualmente, está dentro da MOD's Castlemartin East Firing Range.
