Arte naíf

A arte naíf[1] é unha corrente artística caracterizada pola candidez, a inxenuidade, a espontaniedade, o autodidactismo dos autores e as cores rechamantes e antinaturalistas. Os seus motivos acostuman a relacionarse coa vida campesiña, a vida familiar, os costumes e a relixión, representados sempre con grande imaxinación e vivacidade.

Historia

O interese pola frescura e o lirismo, desenvolveuse primeiro en Francia a comezos do século XX, da man de artistas como o "aduaneiro" Henri Rousseau que influíu na pintura de Grandma Moses nos Estados Unidos e Alfred Wallis en Inglaterra.

O naíf propiamente dito adoita atoparse en certas pinturas populares ou folclóricas. Destas, as máis coñecidas durante o século XX producíronse en Haití e en Iugoslavia, mais os seus autores son descoñecidos ou practicamente descoñecidos. En Bulgaria Radi Nedelchev coñécese como o representante da arte naíf.

Na Arxentina, coetáneo ó francés Rousseau, Cándido López chegou a unha expresión formal moi próxima ó naíf aínda que ámbolos dous pintores xamais tiveron coñecementos das súas respectivas vidas e obras, e por ende non houbo ningún influxo mutuo. Por outra banda, Pilar Sala agregou a esa pintura inocente unha cota de picardía e ilusión.

En España o pintor Manuel Moral Mozas está considerado representante desta corrente.
