Sowat

Sowat (de son vrai nom Mathieu Kendrick) est un artiste contemporain de street art d'origine franco-américaine. Il est né à Marseille en 1978[1].
Il est scénariste de cinéma d'animation et de jeux vidéo pour des sociétés telles qu'Ubisoft et Atari[1], puis, à partir de 2010, se consacre exclusivement à la peinture. Cette même année, il entame une collaboration avec l'artiste Lek[1]. En tant que duo d'artistes ils ont été pensionnaires de la villa Médicis (2015-2016)[2] et ont collaboré sur de nombreux projets, notamment la « résidence artistique sauvage » dite Mausolée de Lek et Sowat, une friche commerciale de 40 000 m2 située Porte de la Villette, qui a servi de terrain d'expérimentations plastiques pour vingt-cinq artistes entre 2010 et 2011.
