Dust In Mind est un groupe de Nu métal / Métal industriel Français, originaire de Strasbourg. Formé en 2013 par Damien Dausch (ex Absurdity, ex Blindness). Les thèmes abordés oscillent entre l'Humain et la Nature. Le groupe comptabilise à ce jour, un Ep, quatre albums studio, ainsi qu'un album live. Le dernier album en date, "CTRL" est sorti le 19 novembre 2021[1]. Il est le premier groupe de métal ayant tourné un clip sur la Tour Eiffel[2].

Biographie

Débuts et premier EP

Dust In Mind (poussière dans l'esprit), crée en 2013 par Damien Dausch qui souhaitait mêler chant guttural masculin et chant mélodique féminin assuré par Jennifer Gervais tout en explorant de nouveaux horizons musicaux, est d'abord un projet studio. De cette collaboration résulte le premier Ep "Dust In Mind" sorti en autoproduction.

Never Look Back

A la suite de cet Ep, le projet studio devient un groupe avec l'arrivée de Jack Ruetsch (ex-Karelia, Post-Mortem) à la guitare, et Arnaud Seebald (ex-Absurdity, Bioscar, ex-Peach Her, ex-Supatyrol) à la batterie. En 2018 sort le premier album "Never Look Back", produit par Damien Dausch via sa structure, le Psyrus Studio. Cet album marque aussi le début de la collaboration du groupe avec le label Allemand darkTunes Music Group[3].

De Oblivion à From Ashes To Flames (2016-2018)

Le deuxième album du groupe, "Oblivion" qui sort le 07 avril 2017, marque l'arrivée de Xavier Guiot (ex-Blindness, ex-Shindo) à la basse et Jackou Binder (Hypnagone) à la batterie et Yan Roy (Hypnagone) à la guitare. Afin de promouvoir ce nouvel opus, le groupe part en tournée à travers l'Europe en première partie du groupe de Métal Industriel Suédois Pain [4], et se produit également dans l'hexagone notamment en ouverture d'Arch Enemy [5] à Strasbourg. À la suite de ces nombreuses dates à travers le continent, le groupe retourne en studio afin de préparer la sortie de "From Ashes To Flames", qui sort le 19 octobre 2018. Pour accompagner cette sortie, de nombreux clips sont produits, comme celui de la chanson "This Is The End" qui comptabilise plus de deux millions de vues sur Youtube[6].

La formation reprend alors la route à travers l'Europe, pour une tournée en compagnie du groupe Moldave Infected Rain[7].

De Live At The Opéra à aujourd'hui

En 2019, le groupe, alors rejoint par Thomas Marasi (DunkelNacht, ex Unexpected Paradigm) à la batterie ainsi que Philippe Miralles (ex Distress) à la guitare, s'attèle à la production d'un live filmé en multi-caméra à l'Opéra National du Rhin de Strasbourg[8]. Ce format plutôt singulier que le groupe a souhaité proposer le 28 novembre 2019[9], a par la suite été utilisé par de nombreuses autres formations à la suite de la pandémie du covid-19[10].

La sortie du clip de la chanson « A New World » le 24 janvier 2020[11] marque la fin de la période "From Ashes To Flames" et après quelques concerts isolés notamment aux côtés du groupe Suédois Soilwork et du groupe Ukrainien Jinjer, Dust In Mind retourne en studio afin de se consacrer à l'écriture de son successeur, "CTRL". Ce dernier, qui voit le jour le 19 novembre 2021[12], porte sur le courage, l’abandon et le processus intime d’apprentissage de soi face à la pression écrasante et aux torrents de sentiments qui semblent incontrôlables et incompréhensibles[13]. Il est accompagné de plusieurs clips vidéo tournés à travers la France, avec pour point culminant, celui de la chanson "Synapses", tourné sur la Tour Eiffel[14].

Le groupe est maintenant prêt à sillonner les routes d'Europe afin de défendre ce dernier opus lors d'une tournée en tête d'affiche qui aura lieu au mois de mars 2022[15].
