La Conférence Gibbs de l'American Mathematical Society est une distinction mathématique décernée, nommé en l'honneur de Willard Gibbs[1]. Le prix est destiné non seulement à des mathématiciens, mais aussi des physiciens, des chimistes, des biologistes, des médecins, des scientifiques et d'autres qui ont effectué d'importantes applications des mathématiques. Le but de ce prix est de reconnaître les réalisations exceptionnelles en mathématiques appliquées et « de permettre au public et à la communauté universitaire de devenir conscients de la contribution que les mathématiques apportent à la pensée actuelle et à la civilisation moderne. »

Le lauréat du prix donne une conférence, qui est ensuite publiée dans le Bulletin of the American Mathematical Society.
