Cerknica (allemand : Zirknitz ; italien : Circonio) est une commune du sud de la Slovénie située dans la région de la Carniole-Intérieure. C'est sur le territoire de cette commune que se trouve le lac intermittent de Cerknica et la grotte touristique de Krizna[1].

Géographie

Cerknica est située au sud de la Slovénie dans la région de la Carniole-Intérieure dans la partie septentrionale des Alpes dinariques (Carso). Elle est située à moins de 5 km au sud de Postojna. La commune a donné son nom au lac de Cerknica. Ce lac intermittent est le plus grand lac du pays en période de haute eau alors qu'en période sèche il est dépassé par le lac de Bohinj qui lui est un lac permanent.
