Argyropée

En alchimie, l'argyropée (du grec ancien ἄργυρος / árguros, « argent », et ποιέω / poiéô, « faire » ; en latin argyropoeia) est l'art de faire de l'argent par transmutation à partir d'un métal moins précieux.

Les alchimistes dénombrent sept métaux dits purs. Parmi eux, l'or et l'argent sont désignés comme métaux parfaits. À chacun des métaux purs est associée une planète. C'est pourquoi l'argent est appelé « matière de Lune »[1],[2].

Il se donnait le nom de Dulco, qui est peut-être une déformation de Duclo (G. de Claves serait le même que G. Duclo, lieutenant particulier au bailliage et à la pairie de Nivernais, cf. Dulco, à comprendre à partir du latin dulcis, « doux », a été interprété en français comme Le Doux. La première édition de son ouvrage a été imprimée à Nevers en 1590 et est précédée d'une épître dédicatoire à Louis de Gonzague, duc de Nevers.
