Wolfgang Reitherman

Wolfgang ”Woolie” Reitherman (26. kesäkuuta 1909 München, Saksa – 22. toukokuuta 1985 Burbank, Kalifornia, Yhdysvallat) oli saksalaissyntyinen yhdysvaltalainen animaattori, ohjaaja ja tuottaja, joka ohjasi useita Disneyn piirroselokuvia.

Reitherman muutti jo lapsena perheineen Yhdysvaltoihin, jossa hän loi uransa. Hän työskenteli Disneyllä vuodesta 1933 aina eläkkeelle jäämiseensä vuonna 1981 saakka. Hän kuului yhtiön ”yhdeksän vanhan miehen” joukkoon.[1] Hän oli mukana työstämässä Disneyn tunnetuimpiin kuuluvia elokuvia, kuten Liisaa Ihmemaassa (1951), 101 dalmatialaista (1961), Viidakkokirjaa (1967), Aristokatteja (1970), Robin Hoodia (1973), Pelastuspartio Bernard ja Biancaa (1977) ja Topia ja Tessua (1981).

Reithermanin poika Bruce Reitherman ääninäytteli kahdessa isänsä ohjaamassa elokuvassa, Viidakkokirjassa Mowglia ja Nalle Puhissa ja hunajapuussa Risto Reipasta.[2]

Reitherman kuoli auto-onnettomuudessa Kalifornian Burbankissa 75-vuotiaana 22. toukokuuta 1985.[1] Hänet nimitettiin vuonna 1989 postuumisti Disney-legendaksi.
