Võ Văn Kiệt (23. marraskuuta 1922 – 11. kesäkuuta 2008) oli vietnamilainen poliitikko. Hän kuului uudistusmielisten kommunistien ryhmittymään, joka aloitti ”Vietnamin perestroikan”, Đổi mớina tunnetun taloudellisen tervehdyttämispolitiikan 1986 [1]. Vietnamin pääministerinä hän toimi 8. elokuuta 1991–25. syyskuuta 1997. Syntymänimeltään hän oli Phan Văn Hòa, mutta hän muutti nimensä liityttyään Indokiinan kommunistipuolueeseen. Ystävät kutsuivat häntä lempinimellä Sáu Dân.

Kiệt syntyi talonpoikaiseen perheeseen Trung Hiệpin kylässä Vũng Liêmin piirissä Vĩnh Longin maakunnassa eteläisessä Vietnamissa, joka oli osa Kotšin-Kiinaa Ranskan Indokiinassa. Kommunistipuolueen jäsen hänestä tuli 1939, ja imperialisminvastaisen nuorisoliikkeen aktivistina hän osallistui Nam Kỳn kansannousuun.

Việt Minh -itsenäisyysliikkeen sotilaana Kiệt taisteli ranskalaisia vastaan ensimmäisessä Indokiinan sodassa 1946-1954 asemapaikkanaan etelä, mutta pakeni Pohjois-Vietnamiin maan jakauduttua kahtia Geneven konferenssin mukaisesti 1954. 1960 hänet valittiin keskuskomitean varajäseneksi ja täysjäseneksi 1972. Vietnamien jälleenyhdistyttyä 1976 hän palasi etelään astuakseen virkaansa Hồ Chí Minhin kaupungin kaupunginjohtajana. Pian tämän jälkeen hänet hyväksyttiin politbyroon varajäseneksi ja nimitettiin Hồ Chí Minhin kaupungin puoluetoimiston pääsihteeriksi. Vuonna 1991 hänestä tuli Vietnamin pääministeri, mutta hän oli toiminut virkaatekevänä jo vuodesta 1988, jolloin hänen edeltäjänsä Phạm Hùng kuoli äkillisesti.

Kaudellaan kaupunginjohtajana hän hillitsi kovan linjan kommunisteja ja halusi pitää vanhan hallinnon ja liike-elämän edustajiin yhteyttä taloudellisen katastrofin estämiseksi [2]. Hän vastusti avoimesti korruptiota ja suhtautui kriittisesti kahden Vietnamin talouksien hätäiseen pakkoliittoon. Hänen uudistuspolitiikkansa otti tuulta vuonna 1986, jolloin maa oli taloudellisen romahduksen partaalla[3].

Kiệt kuoli singaporelaisessa sairaalassa lyhyen sairauden jälkeen 11. kesäkuuta 2008.
