Ville Vallaton 4/1970

Ville Vallaton (engl. Dennis the Menace) on Hank Ketchamin luoma sarjakuva, jonka päähenkilönä on Ville Vallaton, joka on vaaleatukkainen, noin kuusivuotias pojanvintiö. Ville aiheuttaa alituista harmia vanhemmilleen ja naapurin sedälle, herra Karjuselle. Ensimmäinen Ville Vallaton -strippi ilmestyi Yhdysvalloissa sanomalehdissä 12. maaliskuuta 1951.[1]

Hank Ketcham

Ketcham käytti koko ajan apupiirtäjiä. 1950- ja 1960-luvulla sarjakuvalehtiin piirsi yksi Ketchamin avustajista, Al Wiseman. Dennis the Menace -sarjakuvalehteä julkaisi USA:ssa Standard Pines Comics vuosina 1953–1958, Fawcett 1959–1979 ja Marvel 1981–1982. Ville Vallaton -sarjakuvalehti ilmestyi Suomessa 1960–1978 ja 1987–1989 Semicin julkaisemana.

Vuosien myötä Ketcham jättäytyi yhä enemmän sivuun myös sanomalehtisarjojen piirtämisestä. Marcus Hamilton piirsi päivittäisen stripin ja Ron Ferdinand sunnuntaisarjat. Päiväsarja on "pilakuva", yksi iso ruutu. Kun Ketcham kuoli 31. toukokuuta 2001, sarjakuva jatkoi ilmestymistään ilman mitään taukoa. Sarjakuvaa levittää nykyisin King Features Syndicate 1200 lehteen.

1990-luvulla on tehty kaksi Ville Vallaton -elokuvaa, joissa esiintyivät oikeat ihmiset, Ville Vallaton (1993) ja Ville Vallaton iskee jälleen (1998).[2][3] Sarjakuvasta on tehty myös piirrossarja televisioon. Sarjaa esittää MTV Juniori. Ville Vallaton -nimellä myydään myös jäätelöpuikkoja.

Hahmoja

  • Yrjö Karjunen: Yrjö Karjunen on Ville Vallattoman naapuri ja tämän ainaisten kujeiden ja sähläysten kohde. Ville Vallaton pitää herra Karjusta kuitenkin yhtenä parhaimmista ystävistään.
  • Jussi: Villen paras kaveri, Villeä vähän pienempi ja vakavamielisempi. (1960-luvulla ilmestyneessä Ville Vallaton -lehdessä nimeltään Topi.)
  • Tytti: Tytti on Villeen ihastunut tyttö, joka haaveilee olevansa vielä joskus rouva Vallaton. Ville taas ei välitä Tytistä.
  • Tiina: Tiina on Villen poikaporukan ainoa tyttö, jolla on lyönnistä lähtien poikamaiset otteet. (Seura-lehden Ville-sarjassa nimeltään Sissi.)
  • Martta Karjunen: Martta on Yrjön lempeä ja mukava vaimo sekä naapurin täti Villelle.
  • Villen vaari: Villen vaaria ei piirretyissä pahemmin nähdä, mutta Ville Vallaton -elokuvia on tehty kaksi oikeaa ja toisesta niissä tavataan Villen rehti vaari.
  • Villen isä ja äiti: Villen isä ja äiti (Heikki ja Liisa Vallaton) kurittavat Villeä aina, kun tämä on tehnyt jotakin pahaa herra Karjuselle. He kuitenkin rakastavat Villeä paljon.
  • Tommi, Jaska ja E-P: Villen parhaat kaverit.
