Villa Koli on arkkitehti Wivi Lönnin suunnittelema huvila Espoon Matinkylässä. Vuonna 1917 valmistuneen rakennuksen rakennuttivat professori Jaakko Karvonen vaimonsa Anna Robinan kanssa. Hirsihuvila on suojeltu ajalleen tyypillisenä klassisesta arkkitehtuurista vaikutteita saaneena huvilana. Rakennusliike YIT hankki sen vuonna 1982 edustus- ja koulutuskäyttöön.

Arkkitehtuuri

Villa Koli on kaksikerroksinen hirsistä rakennettu huvila. Se edustaa jugendin jälkeen vallalla ollutta rationaalisempaa ja klassisempaa arkkitehtuuria.[1] Villa Kolin päärakennus on tyypillinen 1910-luvun klassistisesta arkkitehtuurista vaikutteita saanut huvila.[2]

Päärakennuksen pohja on pääosin suorakaiteen mallinen, mutta perussymmetrian hajottavat toisella pitkällä sivulla oleva puolipyöreä lasikuisti ja vastakkaisella sivulla oleva avokuisti. Mansardikatto on molemmista päädyistään taitettu.[1]

Museoviraston mukaan Villa Koli edustaa Helsingin länsipuolisen rannikon kesähuvilan rakennuskautta.[2]

Historia

Arkkitehti Wivi Lönnin suunnitteleman rakennuksen tilasi professori ja arkkiatri Jaakko Karvonen.[1] Lönn suunnitteli päärakennuksen vuonna 1915, ja se valmistui kesäksi 1917. Karvoset myivät vuonna 1928 huvilan johtaja E. E. Granbergille, joka puolestaan myi sen vuonna 1938 johtaja Yngvar Lundbergille. Lundbergit käyttivät sitä kesäisin yli neljänkymmenen vuoden ajan.[2]

Villa Koli siirtyi vuonna 1982 rakennusliike YIT:n omistukseen. Se peruskorjattiin vuosina 1983–1984, ja autotallina käytetyn vajan tilalle rakennettiin uusi saunarakennus. Vanha suojeltu saunarakennus kunnostettiin vuonna 1998.[2][3] YIT käyttää Villa Kolia edustus- ja koulutustilana.[1]

Villa Koli suojeltiin vuonna 1985 rakennussuojelulain nojalla. Suojelumääräyksen mukaan rakennuksen ulkoasuun saa tehdä vain korjauksia, jotka tähtäävät nykyisen asun säilyttämiseen. Korjauksille pitää saada Museoviraston lupa.[2]
