Vickers .50″ Mk III -ilmatorjuntakonekivääri

Vickers .50″ Mk III -ilmatorjuntakonekivääri (engl. Gun, Machine, Vickers, .5-inch, Mk. III)^[1] on Vickersin vuodesta 1926 laivastolle valmistama^[2] vesijäähdytteinen 12,7 × 81 SR -kaliiperinen^[3] konekivääri maavoimien käytössä olleesta .50″ aseesta. Britannian Kuninkaallinen laivasto otti sen käyttöönsä 28. heinäkuuta 1932^[1].

Asetta käytettiin yleensä Mark IV-, Mark V- tai Mark VC -jalustalle asennettuna kaksoiskonekiväärinä tai Mark I/Mark I**-, Mark II/Mark II**- tai Mark III -jalustalle asennetuna neljän konekiväärin yhdistelmänä. Aseessa oli ilmatorjuntaan soveltuva rengastähtäin ja 200 patruunan metallihakavyö rullattuna vyösäiliöön. Aseen teoreettinen tulinopeus on 700 laukausta minuutissa.^[2] Ase osoittautui toisen maailmansodan aikana tehottomaksi torjumaan akselivaltain metalliverhoiltuja lentokoneita ja siten se korvattiin Oerlikonin 20 millimetrin tykeillä.
