Verohallitus

Verohallitus oli vuosina 1969–2010 toiminut Valtiovarainministeriön alainen Suomen valtion keskusvirasto. Yhdessä yhdeksän eri puolilla maata sijainneen veroviraston kanssa Verohallitus muodosti verohallinnon, jonka tehtävänä oli toimittaa verotus ja tilittää verot ja muut maksut valtiolle, kunnille, seurakunnille ja Kansaneläkelaitokselle.[1]

Verohallitus perustettiin vuonna 1969 verotuksen yhdenmukaisuuden valvomiseksi. Vuonna 1970 siihen yhdistettiin vuonna 1941 perustettu liikevaihtoverokonttori.[2] Verohallinnon organisaatio uudistui 1. syyskuuta 2010, jolloin Verohallitus lakkautettiin ja sen entiset tehtävät jakautuivat usealle taholle.[3]
