Tom Henning Øvrebø (s. 26. kesäkuuta 1966 Oslo) on norjalainen entinen jalkapalloerotuomari. Hän tuomitsi urallaan useita Mestarien liigan ja Uefa-cupin otteluita. Ammatiltaan Øvrebø on psykologi.

Ura huipputasolla

Øvrebø tuomitsi ensimmäisen ottelunsa Tippeligaenissa 20. syyskuuta 1992. Kaksi vuotta myöhemmin hänestä tuli kansainvälinen erotuomari. Hänet on palkittu Norjan pääsarjan parhaana erotuomarina eli Kniksen-palkinnolla viisi kertaa vuosina 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 ja 2006. Øvrebø on tuominnut myös kaksi Norjan cupin loppuottelua vuosina 1999 ja 2006.

Hän oli tuomitsemassa vuoden 2008 EM-kilpailuja, joka oli ensimmäinen iso arvokisaturnaus hänen urallaan maajoukkuetasolla. Kisoissa hän tuomitsi kaksi alkulohkojen ottelua, Saksa–Puola ja Italia–Romania. Jälkimmäisestä ottelusta hän sai osakseen kritiikkiä, eikä täten tuominnut enää turnauksen pudotuspeleissä.

Øvrebø toimi erotuomarina muutamissa vuoden 2010 MM-kilpailujen karsintaotteluissa. Hän kuului 14 esivalitun erotuomarin joukkoon, joista lopulta 10 valittiin itse MM-kilpailuihin erotuomariksi.[1] Øvrebø jäi valitun kymmenikön ulkopuolelle.[2]

Kansainvälisten ottelujen tuomitsemisen Øvrebø lopetti jäätyään ulos MM-kisoissa. Tippeligaenissa hän vihelsi vuoteen 2013 asti.

Kritiikki

Kauden 2008–2009 Mestarien liigan välierien toisessa osaottelussa Chelsean ja Barcelonan välillä Øvrebø sai osakseen suurta kritiikkiä. Hän jätti asiantuntijoiden mukaan viheltämättä kaikkiaan kuusi rangaistuspotkua Chelsealle ja myös Barcelona-puolustaja Éric Abidalin ulosajo oli kyseenalainen.[3] Pelin päätyttyä useat Chelsea-pelaajat kävivät kuumana norjalaiserotuomarille mukaan lukien Didier Drogba, joka sai myöhemmin neljän ottelun pituisen rangaistuksen epäasiallisesta käyttäytymisestään.[4] Chelsea-valmentaja Guus Hiddink totesi tuomaroinnin olleen huonointa, mitä hän on koskaan nähnyt.[5]

Øvrebø joutui jälleen kerran myrskynsilmään, kun hän oli hyväksynyt vuoden 2009–2010 Mestarien liigan Bayern Münchenin ja Fiorentinan välisessä pudotuspeliottelussa selväksi paitsiotilanteeksi osoittautuneen maalin.[6] Fiorentina-valmentaja Cesare Prandelli oli ottelun jälkeen hyvin pettynyt tuomarityöskentelyyn.
