Tauno Järveläinen

Tauno Adolf Järveläinen (11. helmikuuta 1901 Tampere – 4. tammikuuta 1965 Kuopio) oli suomalainen metsänhoitaja ja yksityismetsätalouden asiantuntija, joka sai ylimetsänhoitajan ja metsäneuvoksen arvonimet.[1]

Henkilöhistoria

Järveläisen vanhemmat olivat kauppias Kustaa Wilhelm Järveläinen ja Elin Aleksandra Erling ja puoliso vuodesta 1931 talousopettaja Eeva Ilona Peltonen. Järveläinen tuli ylioppilaaksi Tampereen lyseosta 1920 ja valmistui metsänhoitajaksi Helsingin yliopistosta 1924. Hän oli Aitolahden kunnan palveluksessa metsätaloudellisissa tehtävissä 1924, Yrjö Tapiovaaran metsätoimiston palveluksessa Lahdessa 1924–1925 ja 1927, Pohjolan Puutavaran Vienti Oy:n palveluksessa Oulussa ja Kemissä 1927–1928, Jämsän kansanopiston maatalousaineiden opettaja 1929–1931, Metsäsanakirjan toimittaja 1932, harjoittelijametsänhoitaja Tuomarniemen normaalimetsäkoulussa Ähtärissä 1932–1933, Keskusmetsäseura Tapion palveluksessa Metsälehden toimittaja 1933–1935 ja Pohjois-Savon metsänhoitolautakunnan apulaismetsänhoitaja Kuopiossa 1935–1943 ja metsänhoitaja 1943–1964.[1][2]

Järveläinen oli myös maatalousministeriön raakapuun hankintatehtävissä 1942–1943, kansanhuoltoministeriö osastosihteeri 1943 ja Pohjois-Savon hankintapiirin päällikkö 1943–1945. Hänellä oli lisäksi useita asiantuntija- ja luottamustehtäviä, Kuopion kaupunginvaltuuston varajäsen hän oli 1953–1955 ja jäsen 1955–1956. Ylimetsänhoitajan arvonimen Järveläinen sai 1954 ja metsäneuvoksen arvonimen 1961. Metsäalan tietokirjan ja asiantuntijajulkaisuja kirjoittanut Järveläinen oli myös pakinoitsija, Savon Sanomiin hän pakinoi nimimerkillä "Käpykankaan Jussi".[1][2][3]
