Seremonia

Seremonia on erään määritelmän mukaan sosiaalinen tapahtuma, johon kuuluu useita erilaisia riittejä tai rituaaleja. Seremoniaa ei tämän määritelmän mukaan voi suorittaa yksin, vaan sillä on sekä suorittaja että seuraajat, joskus myös kohde. Käsitteiden merkityksestä on kuitenkin muitakin käsityksiä, ja jotkut pitävät seremoniaa ja rituaalia synonyymeinä.[1]

Seremonioita ovat esimerkiksi häät, jumalanpalvelus, kruunajaiset, palkintoseremoniat, japanilainen teeseremonia ja ritariksilyönti.
