Salon Piivolley oli suomalainen lentopalloseura. Piivolley oli yksi SM-liigan menestyneimmistä joukkueista 2000-luvulla. Seura menetti liigalisenssinsä kauden 2010-11 jälkeen talousvaikeuksiensa vuoksi. [1]

Salon Piivolley voitti SM-hopeaa peräkkäisiltä kausilta 2004, 2005 ja 2006. Pronssia salolaiset saavuttivat vuosina 2001 ja 2007. Suomen Cupin finaalissa joulukuussa 2003 Piivolley voitti Perungan Pojat Länsi-Auto Areenalla erin 3-2. Suomen Cupin hopeaa joukkue on voittanut kolme kertaa.

Historia

Vuonna 1999 syntyi ajatus Salon seudun miesten huippulentopallojoukkueiden yhdistämisestä. Lentopallossa menestystä 1990-luvulla niittänyt Perttelin Peikot yhdistyi Salon Viestin kanssa yhdeksi joukkueeksi 1999. Nimeksi joukkuelle vakiintui Salon Piivolley.

Uusi seura pääsi heti mitalien makuun, kun se voitti kaudella 2001 SM-pronssia. Lisäksi joukkue otti Suomen Cupin hopeaa palkintokaappiinsa. Kaudella 2003 joukkuetta ravisteli dopingkohu, kun Piivolleyn pelaaja kärähti dopingista. Dopingkäryn taustalla eivät kuitenkaan olleet joukkueen valmentajat tai muu henkilökunta. Pelaaja toimi itsenäisesti ottaessaan kiellettyjä aineita. Kausi kirkastui kuitenkin hieman, kun joukkue otti seuran historian ensimmäisen Suomen Cupin voiton.

Kaudella 2004 Piivolley pääsi jälleen mitalien makuihin, kun joukkue otti SM-hopeaa sekä Suomen Cupin hopeaa. SM-finaalisarjassa joukkue hävisi Pielaveden Sampolle. Kaudella 2005 sama kaava toistui jälleen kun Piivolley oli häviävänä osapuolena finaalisarjassa Pielaveden Sampoa vastaan. Kaudella 2006 joukkue eteni jälleen SM-finaaleihin, mutta ei pystynyt ottamaan Suomen mestaruutta vielä Saloon. Tällä kertaa Salon Piivolleyta parempi oli Tampereen Isku-Volley. Kaudella 2007 Piivolley otti pronssia SM-liigassa, kun se kaatoi Isku-Volleyn. Tilille kertyi myös Suomen Cupin hopea. Kausi 2008 päättyi salolaisten osalta puolivälieriin, kun Isku-Volley eteni välieriin 3-0 otteluvoitoin.

Kaudet 2009–2011 päättyivät myös Piivolleyn osalta jo pudotuspelien avauskierroksilla ja menestys jäi laihaksi myös Suomen Cupin osalta. Seura kärsi talousvaikeuksista, jotka johtivat lopulta sen liigalisenssin hylkäämiseen ja joukkueen pois sulkemiseen Mestaruusliigasta kauden 2010–2011 päätteeksi. [1] Seura meni konkurssiin 2011.[2]
