Pyhäjärven Sanomat on vuonna 1955 perustettu sitoutumaton, poliittisesti riippumaton paikallislehti Pyhäjärveltä.[1] Lehti ilmestyi ensimmäisen kerran 15. joulukuuta 1955. Lehden ensimmäinen päätoimittaja oli Aatto Hosiaisluoma.[2]

Lehteä julkaiseva Pyhäjärven Sanomat Oy on yksityisten osakkeenomistajien omistama pyhäjärvinen yritys. Pyhäjärven Sanomat Oy on kirjattu kaupparekisteriin vuonna 1958. [3]

Pyhäjärven Sanomat kuuluu Uutismedian Liittoon, jonka jäsenlehdet ovat sitoutuneet noudattamaan Journalistin ohjeita ja Julkisen sanan neuvoston periaatteita.[4]

Pyhäjärven Sanomat ilmestyy kerran viikossa paperisena, vuoden viimeistä viikkoa lukuun ottamatta. Pyhäjärven Sanomat on tilaajien luettavissa näköislehtenä jo ilmestymispäivää edeltävänä iltana lehden verkkosivuilla. Digisisältöä julkaistaan verkossa päivittäin. [5]
