PowerVR

PowerVR on Imagination Technologiesin (ent. VideoLogic) osasto, joka kehittää laitteistoa ja ohjelmistoa grafiikka- ja videosuorittimia varten.

Piirit suorittavat laitteistolla toimintoja mm. tehostamaan 2D- ja 3D-grafiikan piirtoa, videokuvan pakkausta ja purkua sekä kuvankäsittelyä (kameratoiminnot).

PowerVR ei itse valmista piirejään vaan lisensoi sen muille valmistajille (ks. engl. fabless semiconductor company). PowerVR-piiri on usein integroituna järjestelmäpiirillä (SoC, engl. System-on-Chip) mobiililaitteissa kuten älypuhelimissa.

Joulukuussa 2016 Imagination Technologies julkisti PowerVR-grafiikkaprosessorin (PowerVR G6230 GPU) läpäisseen ensimmäisenä Khronos Groupin OpenVX 1.1:n vaatimustenmukaisuustestin.[1]

PowerVR-piirit käyttävät engl. Tile Based Deferred Rendering (TBDR) -menetelmää renderöintiin.[2]

NEC:n valmistama, käytetty Matroxin Matrox m3D -näytönohjaimissa.

MBX

MBX on yksi menestyksistä, jonka käyttökohteita ovat mm. iPhone ja Nokia N95.

Series5 (SGX)

SGX-sarja tukee Shader Model 4.1 Unified Shader -rakennetta.

SGX on käytössä mm. Apple A4:ssä iPad-laitteessa ja Sonyn PlayStation Vita -käsikonsolissa.

SGX-sarjaan kuuluvat: Series5, Series5XT ja Series5XE.

Series6

Series6-sarja tulee OpenCL 1.2 -ohjelmointia.[3]

Series7XT

Series7XT-sarja tukee OpenGL ES 3.1- ja OpenCL 1.2 -ohjelmointia.[4]

Series8XE

Series8XE-sarja tukee OpenGL ES 3.2-, OpenCL 1.2- ja Vulkan-ohjelmointia.[5][6]
