Pietari Skyttä

Pietari Mikael Skyttä (s. 24. toukokuuta 1976 Helsinki) on Turun yliopiston geologian apulaisprofessori.[1] Ennen tieteellistä uraansa hän teki urheilu-uran keihäänheittäjänä.[2]

Skyttä on oppiarvoltaan filosofian tohtori Turun yliopistosta. Hän väitteli vuonna 2007 geologian ja minerologian alalta ja on toiminut aiemmin yliopistonlehtorina Helsingin yliopistossa.[3] Skytän asiantuntemusaloja ovat rakennegeologia, 3D-mallinnus, paikkatieto ja ydinjätteiden loppusijoitus.[1]

Urheilijana Skyttä edusti Ikaalisten Urheilijoita ja hänen valmentajanaan toimi Jussi Kuuri. Virallisissa kilpailuissa hän ei ole kilpaillut vuoden 2003 jälkeen.[4] Skyttä voitti alle 23-vuotiaiden Euroopan mestaruuden 1997 Turussa tuloksella 81,58 m.[4]. Samana vuonna Skyttä heitti Lappeenrannan Kalevan kisojen karsinnassa ennätyksensä 83,28 m, joka on Suomen kaikkien aikojen tilastossa sijalla 25.[4] Finaalissa Skyttä oli viides. Näiden kilpailujen jälkeen Skyttä ei enää urallaan ylittänyt 80 metriä ja keskittyi keihäänheiton sijaan opintoihin.[5]

Skyttä asuu Liedossa ja hänellä on vaimo ja kolme poikaa.[2]
