Minna Leinonen (säveltäjä)

Minna Leinonen (s. 1977) on suomalainen säveltäjä.[1]

Leinonen syntyi amatöörimuusikkoisälle, ja hänen isoisänsä oli pelimanni ja soitinrakentaja.[2] Ennen sävellysopintojaan Leinonen opiskeli Pirkanmaan ammattikorkeakoulussa[2], valmistui musiikin perusteiden opettajaksi ja aloitti vuonna 2004 työskentelyn Keski-Helsingin musiikkiopistossa.[3] Hänen sävellysopettajiaan olivat tämän jälkeen Jouni Kaipainen, Veli-Matti Puumala (Sibelius-Akatemia), Eero Hämeenniemi (Sibelius-Akatemia) ja Hannu Pohjannoro (Tampereen ammattikorkeakoulu).[2] Sibelius-Akatemiasta Leinonen sai musiikin maisterin oppiarvon. Hän osallistui myös mestarikursseille sekä Suomessa että ulkomailla ja perehtyi Intiassa karnaattiseen musiikkiin.[3] Hänen orkesteriteoksensa Kha kantaesitys vuonna 2006 oli merkittävä hänen säveltämiselle omistautumisensa kannalta.[2]

Leinosen teosten esittäjien joukossa ovat olleet Tampere Filharmonia, Tapiola Sinfonietta, Zagros Ensemble, Uusinta Ensemble[3], BBC:n filharmonikot, Radion sinfoniaorkesteri, defunensemble, Keski-Pohjanmaan Kamariorkesteri, ICE, TampereRaw ja Tampereen Kamarioopperayhdistys.[1] Helmikuussa 2021 kantaesitettiin Leinosen liikeooppera ALMA!, jonka libretto pohjautuu Hanna Weseliuksen romaaniin Alma! ja jonka koreografian laati Petri Kekoni.[4] Teos nimettiin vuoden 2022 Teosto-palkinto-ehdokkaaksi.[5] Leinosen teos ...and we are rotating with it sai vuonna 2024 Teosto-palkinnon[6].

Huhtikuussa 2022 Leinonen nimitettiin vuosien 2024 ja 2026 Tampere Biennalen taiteelliseksi johtajaksi.[5]
