Keski-Pohjanmaan sairaanhoitopiiri

Keski-Pohjanmaan sairaanhoitopiiri on nykyään Keski-Pohjanmaan hyvinvointialue (lyhennys Soite) (ruots. Mellersta Österbottens välfärdsområde). Tätä ennen Soite oli kymmenen Keski-Pohjanmaan, Pohjanmaan ja Pohjois-Pohjanmaan kunnan yhteisesti omistama kaksikielinen kuntayhtymä, joka järjesti jäsenkuntiensa puolesta alueensa väestölle laaja-alaiset sosiaali- ja terveyspalvelut. Kuntayhtymä möi palveluja ulkopuoliselle tahoille.[1][2][3]

Kuntayhtymän kotipaikka oli Kokkola.[2] Keski-Pohjanmaan sairaanhoitopiiri kuului Oulun yliopistollisen sairaalan erityisvastuualueeseen (Erva-alue).[4]

Soiten jäsenkunnissa asui noin 78 000 ihmistä (31.12.2018).[1][4] Jäsenkuntien ohella Soite-kuntayhtymä tarjosi palveluja läheisille sopimuskunnille (9 kuntaa) sekä yhteistyökunnille (9 kuntaa). Soiten osana Kokkolassa toimiva Keski-Pohjanmaan keskussairaala on lähin päivystävä sairaala noin 200 000 asukkaalle.[1] Siellä hoidetaan vuosittain noin 42 000 potilasta.[5]

Tilikaudella 2019 Soiten toimintamenot olivat 337,2 miljoonaa euroa. Tilikauden kirjanpidollinen alijäämä oli 8,6 miljoonaa euroa. Menoista 53,0 prosenttia oli henkilöstökuluja, 29,8 % palveluostoja, 8,1 % hankintoja, 4,3 % avustuksia ja 4,8 % muita toimintamenoja. [6]

Sairaanhoitopiirin toiminta päättyi 31. joulukuuta 2022 osana Sote-uudistusta.[7] Kuntayhtymän kausi päättyi 31.12.2022 hyvinvointialueiden aloittaessa toiminnan Suomessa. Nykyisin alueen sosiaali-, terveys- ja pelastustoimen palvelut tuottaa Keski-Pohjanmaan hyvinvointialue.[8]
