Kamojoki (jap. 鴨川 tai 賀茂川, Kamogawa) on Kioton kaupungin läpi virtaava, Yodojoen vesistöön kuuluva joki Japanissa. Se saa alkunsa Tanbavuoriin kuuluvalta Sajikigatakelta Kioton luoteispuolella ja virtaa Kioton allaslaakson läpi etelään. Joen pituus on lähteestä riippuen 30–35 kilometriä ja sen valuma-alue on 209 neliökilometriä.[1]

Kamojoen alkulähde on Kioton kaupungin Kitan suuralueen Kumogahatan kaupunginosassa. Kioton allaslaakson pohjoispuolisilla vuorilla Kamoon liittyy pieni Kuramajoki, sen jälkeen Kioton keskustan pohjoispuolella Demachin alueella Takanojoki. Demachista Kamo virtaa suoraan etelään Kioton keskustan itäosien läpi Fushimin suuralueelle, jonka Shimotoban kaupunginosassa se yhtyy ensin Katsurajokeen ja lopulta Yodojokeen, joka virtaa edelleen Osakanlahteen. Joen nimestä on kaksi eri kirjoitusasua: Demachista ylävirtaan nimi kirjoitetaan 賀茂川, alavirtaan 鴨川.[1][2]

Alun perin Kamojoki virtasi nykyisen uomansa länsipuolella Horikawa-valtakadun kohdalla, mutta sitä siirrettiin itään Heian-kyōn perustamisen yhteydessä 700-luvun lopulla. Kioto on historiansa ajan kärsinyt joen tulvista, joita on yritetty hillitä rakentamalla joen reunoille pengerryksiä. Penkereitä rakennutti muun muassa Toyotomi Hideyoshi 1500-luvulla. Niitä uusittiin suurimittakaavaisessa rakennusurakassa 1930-luvun puolivälissä, kun rankkasateet olivat vahingoittaneet monia joen ylittäviä siltoja.[1]

Historiallisesti Kamojoen penkat muun muassa Gojō-valtakadun sillan tietämillä ovat toimineet teloituspaikkana. Joen vettä on myös käytetty šintolaisiin misogi-puhdistautumisrituaaleihin ja kankaiden yūzen-värjäykseen. Edo-kauden alkuvaiheilta lähtien joen töyräistä tuli huvittelupaikkoja, joihin keskittyi esimerkiksi teatteritoimintaa ja aikansa kummajaisnäytöksiä (misemonogoya). Nykyisinkin joen rannoille on Kioton keskusta-alueella sijoittunut ravintoloita ja majataloja.[1][2]

Kamojoki ei vähävetisenä sovellu hyvin tavarankuljetukseen. 1600-luvun alkupuolella kauppias Suminokura Ryōi rakennuttikin sen vierelle tätä tarkoitusta varten Takasejoen.[1]
