Kalle Kauhanen

Kalle Jalmari Kauhanen (20. kesäkuuta 1900 Leppävirta – 19. joulukuuta 1969 Joensuu) oli suomalainen poliitikko ja muurari. Hän toimi kansanedustajana Kuopion läänin itäisestä vaalipiiristä vuosina 1945–1951 ja 1954–1958. Kauhanen edusti Suomen kansan demokraattista liittoa, kunnes hän loppuvuonna 1949 siirtyi Suomen sosialidemokraattiseen puolueeseen.[1]

Kauhanen oli mukana äärivasemmiston toiminnassa 1920-luvulta alkaen. Vuosina 1931–1934 hän oli vankilassa poliittisista syistä.[1] 1940-luvun lopussa Kauhanen ajautui erimielisyyksiin Suomen kommunistisen puolueen kanssa, mikä johti lopulta erottamiseen.[2] Kiistat tulivat julkisuuteen lokakuussa 1948, kun Kauhanen ei suostunut allekirjoittamaan SKDL:n välikysymystä.[3] Kauhanen ei suostunut itsekritiikkiin, ja SKP leimasi miehen titolaiseksi. SDP:hen siirryttyään Kauhanen antoi kielteiset kokemuksensa uuden puolueensa propagandakäyttöön.

Kauhanen työskenteli muurarina Varkaudessa ja Kuusjärvellä vuoteen 1945 asti. Hän kuului Kuusjärven ja Outokummun kunnanvaltuustoihin. Vuoden 1956 presidentinvaaleissa hän oli yksi sosialidemokraattien valitsijamiehistä.[1]
