IBM PCjr (mallinumero 4860) oli IBM:n valmistama mikrotietokone, joka esiteltiin marraskuussa 1983: ensimmäiset mallit saapuivat myyntiin maaliskuussa 1984 ja malli lopetettiin maaliskuussa 1985.[1]

Ensimmäisissä malleissa massamuistilaitteena ei ollut levykeasemaa, vaan ohjelmat ladattiin pelimoduulilta tai ulkoiselta nauha-asemalta.[2]

Perusmallissa oli 64 kilotavua muistia, joka mallista riippuen voitiin laajentaa 128 kilotavuun tai 512 kilotavuun.[3]

Tietokoneelle julkaistiin taulukkolaskentaohjelma Lotus 1-2-3 versiona, joka oli kahdella ROM-moduulilla ja yhdellä levykkeellä laitteen pienen muistimäärän johdosta.[4]

Ohjelmistokehittäjillä oli toiveita lisätä opetus- ja hyötyohjelmia myyntiä koteihin vuonna 1984 julkaistulle IBM PCjr:lle, joka oli merkittävästi aiempaa IBM PC:tä edullisempi.[5] PCjr-tietokoneen toivottiin myös "tuovan uskottavuutta" kotitietokoneiden markkinoille.[5] Tietokonetta arvosteltiin sen 1 500 dollarin hinnasta, joka oli sen suorituskykyyn nähden korkea.[6]
