Vauban oli Ranskan laivaston 1930 vesille laskettu Guépard-luokan hävittäjä toisessa maailmansodassa, kunnes miehistö upotti aluksensa Toulonin satamassa 27. marraskuuta 1942.

Valmistus

Pääartikkeli: Guépard-luokka (hävittäjä)

Alus tilattiin Dunkerquesta Ateliers et Chantiers de Francelta, missä köli laskettiin 22. toukokuuta 1927. Alus laskettiin vesille 1. helmikuuta 1930 ja otettiin palvelukseen 9. tammikuuta 1931.[1]

Palvelus

Vauban liitettiin Välimeren laivaston 1. viirikköön, jonka mukana se osallistui Genovan pommitukseen kesäkuussa 1940. Ranskan ja akselivaltojen välisen aselevon astuttua voimaan alus pysyi Toulonissa tai Pohjois-Afrikan tukikohdissa.[2]

Saksalaisten tunkeuduttua Vichyn Ranskan hallitsemalle alueelle alus upottautui 27. marraskuuta 1942 muiden ranskalaisalusten kanssa Toulonin satamaan.[2]
