چد

چَد (به انگلیسی: Chad) یک اصطلاح عامیانه برای اشاره به نوعی از مردان جوان است. در دههٔ ۲۰۰۰، این واژه در شیکاگو به‌عنوان توصیفی تحقیرآمیز برای مردان جوان، شهری، طبقه‌بالا و مرفه به کار می‌رفت.[۱] در زبان عامیانه اینترنتی امروزی، این اصطلاح معمولاً به معنای «آلفا»[۲] یا به‌طور کلی مردی با موفقیت جنسی به کار می‌رود.[۳]

شیکاگو

در دههٔ ۲۰۰۰، واژهٔ «چد» در شیکاگو[۱] به‌عنوان اصطلاحی تحقیرآمیز برای توصیف مردان جوان و ثروتمندِ ساکن حومهٔ شمالی شهر استفاده می‌شد؛ معمولاً مردانی مجرد در دههٔ بیست یا اوایل سی‌سالگی.[۱] چدهای شیکاگو موضوع یک وب‌سایت طنزآمیز بودند که به «انجمن چدهای لینکلن پارک» می‌پرداخت؛ یک باشگاه اجتماعی خیالی در محلهٔ مرفه لینکلن پارک.[۴]

معادل زنانهٔ «چد» در این کاربرد، «تریکسی» است.[۵]

منوسفیر، اینسل‌ها و کاربرد اینترنتی

معنای امروزی این واژه در دههٔ ۲۰۱۰ در انجمن‌های اینسل و زبان عامیانهٔ اینترنتی رواج یافت و برای اشاره به مردانی از نظر جنسی فعال، به‌اصطلاح از نظر ژنتیکی برتر، یا «نرهای آلفا» به کار رفت.[۶] در منوسفیر و فرهنگ اینترنتی، چدها معمولاً در بالاترین دهک از نظر «تناسب ژنتیکی» تصور می‌شوند.[۷] در نقاشی‌ها و کاریکاتورهای اینترنتیِ منوسفیر، چد اغلب به‌صورت مردی عضلانی، بور و با ویژگی‌های بسیار مردانه تصویر می‌شود. یکی از این تصویرسازی‌ها در میم اینترنتی «ویرجین در برابر چد» است که در سال ۲۰۱۷ از انجمن /r9k/ در ۴چن پدید آمد و در آن «ویرجین» فردی درون‌گرا و بی‌اعتمادبه‌نفس است که رفتاری عادی دارد، در حالی که «چد» فردی عضلانی، خودشیفته و اغراق‌آمیز نشان داده می‌شود.[۸]

چدها گاهی در نقطهٔ مقابل «مردان بتا» یا «اُمگا» قرار می‌گیرند و معمولاً جذابیت فیزیکی دارند. این واژه گاهی به‌جای «slayer» نیز استفاده می‌شود.[۹] به دلیل تصویرسازی از چدها به‌عنوان افرادی با امتیاز ژنتیکی و اجتماعی—هرچند گاهی سطحی، کم‌هوش، متکبر و بیش‌ازحد جنسی[۱۰]—این اصطلاح هم در معنای تحقیرآمیز و هم در معنای ستایش‌آمیز در انجمن‌های اینسل و فضای اینترنت به کار می‌رود.[۱۱][۱۲]

میم‌های اینترنتی

این واژه در یک میم وایرال سال ۲۰۱۳[۱۶] پس از آنکه در تابلوی پیام‌رسان ۴چن با نام «Chad Thundercock» ظاهر شد، رواج بیشتری یافت.[۱۷] چد در این میم‌ها معمولاً مردی دگرجنس‌گرا، سفیدپوست، اغلب بور،[۱۸][۱۹] شاغل، ورزشکار، از نظر جنسی فعال و دارای اندام جنسی بزرگ توصیف می‌شود.[۲۰]

گیگاچد

«گیگاچد» یک میم مرتبط است که از سال ۲۰۱۶ رواج یافت و از عکس‌های سیاه‌وسفید یک مدل مرد عضلانی استفاده می‌کند. این میم برای بیان قاطعانهٔ یک نظر—بدون ارائهٔ دلیل یا شواهد—به کار می‌رود.[۲۱][۱۶]
