Francine Paula Rubin Manhattanen jaio zen 1932ko maiatzaren 13an, eta New Yorkeko Jamaica auzoan hazi zen. Kazetaritza ikasi zuen New Yorkeko Unibertsitatean eta Cosmopolitan, Ladies' Home Journal, Modern Screen eta True Confessions aldizkarietan lan egin zuen[4].
