RadioShack Corporation (ex-Tandy Corporation) es una empresa estadounidense, que gestiona una cadena de tiendas de artículos y componentes electrónicos en Estados Unidos y México, propiedad de Standard General. Se asoció con la compañía de móviles Sprint, y la mayoría de las tiendas son de la marca "Sprint", aunque también venden artículos de RadioShack.

Fundada en 1921, tuvo su máximo auge en 1999, cuando operaba tiendas en Estados Unidos, México, Reino Unido, Australia y Canada. El 5 de febrero de 2015, la compañía se clasificó para entrar en la protección del capítulo 11 de la ley de quiebras de Estados Unidos, después de 11 trimestres consecutivos de pérdidas.[1]​[2]​ Después de esto, pasó a operar solamente en Estados Unidos, México y Centroamérica. El 31 de marzo de 2015, la Corte de Quiebras de Estados Unidos para el Distrito Norte de Texas aprobó una oferta de USD 160 millones de General Wireless, obteniendo la propiedad de 1.743 locales RadioShack, y arrendándolos inmediatamente a Sprint.

En abril de 2015 Grupo Unicomer, con sede en San Salvador, adquiere las marcas, la propiedad intelectual y los contratos de los franquicitarios existentes de RadioShack para toda Centroamérica, Suramérica y el Caribe[3]​

En julio del mismo año, Grupo Gigante a través de Office Depot México adquirió el 100% de las licencias para México.

En febrero de 2015, RadioShack (RSHCQ), una reconocida tienda de electrónica, se acogió al Capítulo 11 de la protección por bancarrota luego de muchos errores financieros y operativos. La empresa tenía demasiadas tiendas que canibalizaban los ingresos entre sí y generaban pérdidas. RadioShack no se adaptó ni mantuvo su relevancia cuando la mayoría de las ventas de productos electrónicos cambiaron en línea y el minorista se quedó atrapado en ubicaciones físicas únicamente.

Ciclismo

El 23 de julio de 2009, el siete veces ganador del Tour de Francia (y luego desposeído por dopaje) y también estadounidense Lance Armstrong hizo público que a partir de la temporada 2010 RadioShack sería el patrocinador de un nuevo equipo ciclista, el Team RadioShack donde él mismo sería el jefe de filas y Johan Bruyneel el director. También contarían con ciclistas de la talla de Sérgio Paulinho, Haimar Zubeldia y Andreas Klöden entre otros.[4]​
