Pélice

Pélice, pelica, pelique o pélike (en griego: πελίκη y en plural: pelikai) es un recipiente de cerámica griega, catalogado como variedad del ánfora, pero con la base más ancha.[1]​[a]​ Tiene dos asas verticales y enfrentadas que bajan desde la boca hasta el inicio del cuerpo casi esférico. Se supone su uso para el almacenamiento y transporte de alimentos líquidos (como el vino) o sólidos.

Aparece como tal recipiente en Atenas a fines del siglo VI a. C. y se documenta hasta el siglo IV a. C.[2]​

  1. ↑ Algunos estudios argumentan –así el Fatás y Borrás– que a diferencia de la parte inferior de muchas ánforas, esta lleva un reborde que permite a la vasija mantenerse en pie por sí misma. También advierten que el uso del término es "convencional y arqueológico", pues en muchos textos, la vasija así descrita se define o identifica con el enócoe, la lécane y el kílix, además de con un cuenco de madera.
