Mastiko (trinkaĵo)

La mastiko (greke μαστίχα) estas origine likvoro spicita kun lentiska rezino, prenita el la lentisko, malgranda ĉiamverda arbo indiĝena de la mediteranea regiono kreskis sur la insulo Ĥio.

En Grekio oni konas du trinkaĵojn sub la nomo mastiko. Unu, la martiko de Ĥio, estas likvoro bazita sur brando devenanta de la insulo de Ĥio. Ĝi ofte akompanas migdalajn desertojn kaj servas dum geedziĝaj festoj kiel digestivo. Ĝi havas dolĉan odoron kaj similan guston al glicirizo. La alia trinkaĵo estas forta likvoro simila al oŭzo aŭ cikudio. Ĝi serviĝas malvarme aŭ en ĉambra temperaturo kun glacio. Ambaŭ fariĝas blankaj kun glacio aŭ miksitaj kun akvo, kaj formas malgrandajn kristalojn kiam ili frostiĝas. Ili serviĝis kun diversaj mezeoj (manĝetoj), kiel la polpo, salato, pilĉardo, kalmaroj, frititaj kukurbetoj kaj mituloj, inter aliaj.
