Zelda (given name)
Zelda is a nickname for the feminine name Griselda,[1] from Old High German Grisja Hilda, 'Grey Battle-maid'.[2][3] It is also the feminine form of the Yiddish name Selig,[1] meaning 'blessed', 'happy'.[4]
Since 1986, the name has been associated with the popular Nintendo franchise The Legend of Zelda and its eponymous character Princess Zelda.
