Zalian District (Persian: بخش زالیان) is in Shazand County,[a] Markazi province, Iran.[4] Its capital is the city of Tureh.[5]

History

After the 2006 National Census, the village of Mahajeran was elevated to the status of a city.[6]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 census, the district's population was 42,665 in 11,108 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 38,813 people in 11,315 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 43,398 inhabitants in 13,766 households.[2]
