I think that we should give importance to to articles. My proposal:

Top priority: Those record labels which are internationally known, and have had a profound impact on the history of recorded sound. Examples: RCA Victor, Columbia, His Masters Voice.

High priority: Those record labels which are generally well known, having a long history of strong sales and musical and/or industry influence. Examples: Warner Brothers, Edison, Parlophone, Arista.

Mid priority: Those record labels having numerous hits or having a profound impact on a particular field of music. Examples: Rounder, Aladdin, Banner (1920s)

Low priority: All other notable labels.
