Not sure which category
I am not sure which category to put this in, but I would like to see an article about the concept of Legacy gifts. That is to say when someone wills money to a non-profit organization. I wanted to read more about them and was surprised no such article existed. Where is the "on-demand writing service" then?

- There isn't one. Wikipedia is maintained by volunteers; none of whom wish to write articles on an "on demand" basis, especially when many suggestions just would not be viable per WP:N, WP:NOT and the like. - You could try making such a place yourself, but it's unlikely to have much success. If the subject is not even mentioned anywhere in the Encyclopedia, persuading someone to write a whole article is unlikely. Of course, you could insert a mention into a relevant existing article, which might persuade a reader that your article idea is a good one. Maybe. Jim.henderson (talk) 09:26, 17 August 2026 (UTC)

- Nobody is going to 'write an article for you' unless the subject meets our notability criteria, as demonstrated through significant coverage in published reliable sources independent of the subject. If the subject in the article is the same as the individual currently described in your sandbox, [1] you aren't going to get an article, because the individual clearly isn't notable.
- If anyone offers to write an article for you for payment, ignore them, as such offers are invariably scams. AndyTheGrump (talk) 22:44, 9 June 2026 (UTC)

I would like to request the creation of a new Wikipedia article about Ian Gentil, a professional surfer from Maui, Hawaii. Proposed title: Ian Gentil Subject: Ian Gentil is a professional surfer from Maui, Hawaii. He qualified for the 2023 WSL Championship Tour (the highest level where the best surfers in the world compete) after a strong 2022 season. He was named the 2023 WSL Men's Rookie of the Year. Requesting articles for people with significant media coverage ( I think ) and have contributed to the society
Alisson wood: Author of Being Lolita https://www.theparisreview.org/blog/2020/08/04/dissecting-pain-an-interview-with-alisson-wood/ and Dr. Alison Wood Brooks Harvard Business School, widely recognized for her expertise on the science of human conversation. [1] ( I'm shocked the latter doesn't have a wikipedia page yet ) and I think she has sufficient independent media coverage to have one. Can any enthusiasts help to bridge the knowledge gap in wikipedia, especially for women since history has significantly less coverage of accomplished women and I posit that Wikipedia inherited this aspect, resulting in a gender gap between coverage of accomplished women and men on the wikipedia page. - Writing a new article takes more effort than most other tasks, and is especially difficult for a BLP biography of the living. Easier usually to beef up the subject's Wikidata item, and to mention her in existing articles for which she provides a reference or is otherwise important. For example, I was reluctant to write a bio of Alice Bowman but instead just mentioned her name in a paragraph about New Horizons. That was enough to persuade a few other editors to do the rest of the work for me. This method of course doesn't much apply to a subject who is not relevant to matters already discussed in Wikipedia. - Okay I get what you mean. When I have the time or when I wanna destress, I'll try to find related articles and mention her. I think it's much more easier to do it for Dr. Alison Wood Brooks.
