Welcome to the Climbing WikiProject, a collaboration area and group of editors dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of climbing and mountaineering. This includes topics related to rock climbing (including traditional climbing, sport climbing, bouldering, free solo climbing, deep-water soloing, big wall climbing, aid climbing and multi-pitch climbing), mountaineering (including alpine climbing and expedition climbing), ice climbing (including mixed climbing and dry-tooling), competition climbing (including competition lead climbing, competition bouldering, and competition speed climbing), buildering, and all other forms of human climbing activity.

Objectives

  • Improve and update articles on Wikipedia related to the topic of climbing.
  • Find and/or create images and videos for these topics (and link to the relevant Wikicommons climbing categories).
  • Properly categorise articles about these topics (and relevant Wikicommons categories).
  • Translate relevant articles and content from other Wikipedia projects (and link to those projects via Wikidata).
  • Add and patrol climbing-related articles adding the Template:WikiProject Climbing banner to the talkpge (shows on the Wikiproject table below).
  • Help remove unsuitable climbing-related articles (and climbing-related BLPs), and re-write poor use of climbing terminology.
