Russian politician (born 1946)
Vyacheslav Yevgenyevich Pozgalyov (Russian : Вячеслав Евгеньевич Позгалёв , born 15 November 1946) is a Russian retired politician, who served as governor of Vologda Oblast from 1996–2011. He was born in Pyongyang , North Korea to a family of Smersh officer. He was raised in the Far East and Cherepovets , Vologda Oblast .
He became the governor in 1996. Prior to that, he was the mayor of Cherepovets . He tendered his resignation on 12 December 2011.[ 1] He last served as a member of the State Duma until 2016.[ 2]
