VIC Group is a Russian pharmaceutical holding company specializing in the development, manufacture, and distribution of veterinary medicines and feed additives for livestock and companion animals. The company is one of the largest manufacturers of veterinary pharmaceuticals in Russia.[2][3] Its products are exported to more than 50 countries worldwide.[4]

The company's headquarters are in the village of Ostrovtsy, Lyubertsy Urban Okrug, Moscow Oblast, Russia.[5]

History

The company was founded in 1990 by entrepreneurs Victoria Violina and Alexander Kasparyants.[6]

In the early 1990s, the company focused on the distribution of veterinary pharmaceuticals and published the industry newsletter Vetinform. In 1993, the company began manufacturing veterinary medicines developed in-house in Russia.

In 2000, VIC Group built a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in the Vitebsk Free Economic Zone in Belarus. The new facility enabled the company to expand its product range and increase supplies to the markets of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). During the 2010s, the company expanded into European and Asian markets.

In 2014, another pharmaceutical manufacturing plant was opened in Belgorod, Russia.[7][8] In October 2016, the company inaugurated a new production facility in Belgorod for feed additives and animal identification products.[9]

According to The Pharma 1000 Top Global Pharmaceutical Company Report, in 2021 VIC Group ranked 21st among the world's veterinary pharmaceutical companies and was the only Russian company included in the ranking.[10]

In 2023, the company's export revenue increased by 80% compared with the previous year. Its principal export markets included the CIS countries, the Netherlands, and Vietnam. During the year, the company obtained 35 marketing authorizations for products intended for Kuwait, Vietnam, Egypt, Jordan, Iran, and the Philippines.[11]

In 2024, VIC Group established offices in Hong Kong, China, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to strengthen access to key markets in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.[12]

In May 2025, VIC Group became a strategic partner of the National Veterinary Chamber (NVC).[13] In November of the same year, VIC Group signed a cooperation agreement with Cigalah Group, a pharmaceutical distributor operating in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, to expand the distribution of veterinary medicines across Middle Eastern markets.[14]

Also in 2025, the company launched the development of AgroPredict,[15][16] a digital platform created jointly by VIC Group and the IT company Inline, with support from the Skolkovo Foundation. The platform uses artificial intelligence and big data analytics to predict production and veterinary risks in agriculture.[17][18] The industrial version of the AgroPredict AI platform was presented at the AGRAVIA 2026 exhibition.[19]

The group comprises the following companies:

  • VIC – Animal Health LLC («ВИК — здоровье животных») — development and manufacture of veterinary pharmaceuticals.[20]
  • VIC Trading House LLC (Торговый дом ВИК) — logistics and distribution.[21][22]
  • Vetmarket LLC (Ветмаркет) — products for companion animals.
  • Clincosmic LLC (Клинкосмик) — manufactures cosmetics and personal care products for both humans and animals. The company owns two brands: Doctor VIC, which produces pet care cosmetics, and SelfieLab, which manufactures pharmaceutical-grade cosmetics for humans.
  • Research and Production Company "VIC" LLC (Научно-производственная фирма „ВИК“) — manufacture of veterinary medicines, feed additives, hygiene and sanitation products, as well as ear tags for the identification of cattle and pigs.[23]
  • VIC – Animal Health UE (Vitebsk, Belarus) — manufacturer of veterinary pharmaceuticals.
  • VIC-Pharma LLC (ВИК-Фарма) — manufacturer of veterinary pharmaceuticals.[24]

Manufacturing

The company's manufacturing facilities are located in Russia and Belarus.[25][26][27] Its product range includes more than 300 veterinary medicines covering a wide range of pharmacological categories.[28][29][30][31] Production complies with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.[32][33][34] Ten of the company's products are protected by patents and are considered innovative.

In 2025, the company began construction of one of the largest veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturing plants in the CIS in the Moscow Region, with an annual production capacity of approximately 9,000 tonnes.[35][36] The facility is expected to become operational in 2026.[37]

Scientific activities

VIC Group participates in scientific and industry events related to agriculture[38][39] and veterinary medicine[40] and collaborates with specialized universities and research institutions.[41][42][43][44][45] The company also organizes educational and professional training programs.[46][47]
